Handover ceremony for the third batch of equipment through OSA (Official Security Assistance) to the Republic of Fiji Navy

On June 29, the Government of Japan handed over the third batch of equipment provided through the FY2023 Official Security Assistance (OSA) program, with a total value of 400 million Japanese yen (approximately 6 million Fijian dollars).
Ambassador of Japan to Fiji, H.E. Mr. Hiroshi TAJIMA, handed over three(3) patrol boats to Honourable Pio Tikoduadua, Minister for Defence and Veteran Affairs of the Republic of Fiji. Now, all the equipment under the FY2023 OSA program has been delivered, following a rescue boat, an underwater camera, and a water rescue training doll at the first handing over ceremony (May 26, 2025) and a Rigid-Hulled Inflatable Boat at the second handing over ceremony (October 20, 2025).
The provision of OSA to Fiji will contribute to strengthening Fiji's security capabilities and deterrence, and this, in turn, will foster stronger security cooperation with Japan, will create a security environment favorable to Japan, and will support the maintenance and strengthening of international peace and security. The Government of Japan remains committed to maintaining close coordination and cooperation with the Government of Fiji.
