The groundbreaking (a first concrete pouring) ceremony for “The Project for the Construction of Ratu Sauvoli Memorial School Building” under the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP) programme, funded by the Government of Japan, was held on 26 May 2026.
His Excellency Mr. Hiroshi TAJIMA, Ambassador of Japan to Fiji and the Minister for Education, Hon. Aseri RADRODRO prayed for a safe and smooth first day of construction of the 3 classrooms building worth approximately 510,000 Fiji dollars.
This project aims to improve the learning environment for students and enhance the educational environment by providing 3 classrooms building and furniture (120 sets of desks and chairs for students, 3 sets of desks and chairs for teachers, 3 blackboards, and 3 whiteboards) to the school.
