Japan–Australia–Fiji Trilateral Collaboration on the 3rd Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment Headquarters Redevelopment Project

 On 16th March, at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) in Suva, His Excellency Mr. Hiroshi TAJIMA, Ambassador of Japan to Fiji, jointly announced with Fiji and Australia a plan of trilateral collaboration on the 3rd Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment (3FIR) Headquarters Redevelopment Project, with the attendance of the Honourable Pio Tikoduadua, Minister for Defence and Veterans Affairs and His Excellency Mr. Peter Roberts, High Commissioner of Australia to Fiji.
 Ambassador Tajima said that Japan was proud to announce the launch of the plan on the first trilateral cooperation under Japan’s Official Security Assistance (OSA) programme, supporting RFMF’s key infrastructure.
 Ambassador Tajima also mentioned that this milestone initiative demonstrated our shared commitment to strengthening security cooperation, enhancing regional stability, and advancing a Free and Open Indo‑Pacific (FOIP) through partnership and trust, and Japan will continue to cooperate with Australia and Fiji as close and reliable partners for peace and security.
