Handing Over Ceremony for“The Project for Upgrading of Bau District Primary School” under the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP) programme.

On 19 June 2025, Japan officially Handed Over Furnished Classroom Building, Dormitory, and School Infirmary to Bau District Primary School. The Government of Japan provided assistance approximately FJ$308 thousand to Bau District Primary School for furnished classroom building, dormitory, and school infirmary through its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP). The construction was completed with the support of the Government of Japan, with additional support from the school, the local community, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Public Works, Meteorological Services & Transport. Mr. TAKADA Isami, Chargé d'affaires of Japan to Fiji, together with Hon. Aseri Radrodro, Minister for Education, officially handed over the furnished classroom building, dormitory, and school infirmary to the school. The new facilities are expected to significantly enhance the learning environment and overall educational experience for students.
Mr. Takada, Chargé d'affaires expressed his hope that these buildings will serve the children and the community for many years to come, and thanked everyone involved for their valuable contributions.
