Handing Over Ceremony for“The Project for Construction of Tilapia Ponds in Nasautoka village” under the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP) programme.

A handover ceremony for the Project for the Construction of Tilapia Ponds in Nasautoka Village, funded by the Japanese Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP), was held on 24 January 2025. During the ceremony, Ambassador Michii handed over tilapia aquaculture ponds worth approximately 47,000 Fiji dollars to the village in the presence of the Minister for Fisheries and Forests, Hon. Bainivalu. This project will enable the village to farm fish, which is expected to provide stable food security and boost economic activity.
 
Ambassador Michii expressed his hope that the project would improve the lives of the villagers and strengthen the friendly relations between Fiji and Japan.
