Workshop on Digital Arrival Cards (May 30th -31st, 2023.)

A two-day, Digital Arrival Cards Consultation was held from May 30th (Tue.) to 31st (Wed.), 2023, as part of the "The Project for Strengthening Capacity of Border Control for COVID-19 Crisis " supported by the Government of Japan through UNDP (project period: 2021-2024, total budget: $4.2 million USD).


At this workshop, the Director of the Digital Agency of the Japan Government Mr. Kato and Project Manager Mr. Umehara, participated in person and gave a presentation on the status of the digitization of CIQ procedures in Japan, including the “VISIT JAPAN WEB”system. They also had a very active discussion on the future implementation of the Digital Arrival Card in Fiji, referring to examples in Japan.
 


The workshop was attended by a total of approximately 30 participants from the Fiji Ministry of Health, Fiji Airways, and other related organizations. Also in attendance were the Hon. Tikoduadua, Minister of Home Affairs, Mr.TANAKA Kenichiro Charge d'Affaires Embassy of Japan and Mr. Rustam Pulatov UNDP Pacific Office Unit leader.
