Reception hosted by Ambassador Omura to welcome the Webb Ellis Cup to the Republic of Fiji (21 May 2018)



On 21 May 2018, Ambassador of Japan, H.E. Mr. Masahiro Omura hosted a reception to welcome the Webb Ellis Cup to the Republic of Fiji for the Rugby World Cup 2019 Trophy Tour in cooperation with DHL, the Official Logistics Partner of the Rugby World Cup 2019.
Hon. Laisenia Bule Tuitubou, Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Liutenant Colonel Inia Batikoto Seruiratu, Minister for Agriculture, Rural and Maritime Development and National Disaster Management, H.E. Sir Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, Former President of Fiji, together with guests from Fiji government, diplomatic missions, Fiji rugby union, Japanese association, private sectors and the media attended.
The Rugby World Cup 2019 will be held from 20 September to 2 November, 2019 in Japan. The twelve Japanese cities that have been confirmed to host Rugby World Cup matches are namely, Sapporo city, Kamaishi city, Kumagaya city, Tokyo, Yokohama city, Shizuoka prefecture, Toyota city, Higashiosaka city, Kobe city, Fukuoka city, Kumamoto city and Oita prefecture.
