Japan to host Ministerial Interim Meeting of PALM 5 in Tokyo on 16th October 2010

　　　The Ministerial Interim Meeting of the 5th Pacific Islands Leaders Meeting (PALM 5) is going to be held in Tokyo on 16th October 2010. The meeting will be held for the first time based on the ‘Islanders’ Hokkaido Declaration’ adopted at the PALM 5 which had been held in Hokkaido – Japan in May 2009. The purpose of the meeting is to follow up the implementation of the key PALM 5 outcomes (including enhanced cooperation to address climate change) as well as to start the preparatory process for the PALM 6 to be held in 2012 (Press Release).
