Japanese Government Scholarship for 2009 (Teachers Training Students)

The Government of Japan is offering scholarships to Fiji citizens to study in Japan under the “Teacher Training Student” programme from October 2009 for 18 months.
This is a non degree programme for people who have worked as teachers at primary or secondary schools or worked as academic staff at teacher training institutions for at least five years. The programme is suitable for aspiring professionals who seek to enhance their expertise as teachers or academic staff.

The selection process of the Scholarship is as follows.

  1. End of February: Applications close
  2. First Week of March: Examination (English) and Interview for selected applicants
  3. March 25: Completing documentation by short listed applicants
  4. Middle of August: Successful candidates will be announced
