Japanese Government Scholarships 2012 Intake

A FNU Student to share her programme to Japan,
and Departure of Japanese Government Scholarship Programme for 2012 participants
The Government of Japan continues to award scholarship annually that benefit Fiji citizens.
Four Fiji nationals have been awarded Japanese Government Scholarships and will depart for Japan on the 2nd April, 2012. Also this year, the Government of Japan organised “Japan Study Programme” to provide opportunity for students who wish to study in Japan to grasp the current situation and study environment in Japan. The participant has just come back to Fiji.
Mr. Ashneel Singh has been awarded scholarship under the Doctor’s course to further his studies in the field of Marine Environment Studies at Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology.
Mrs. Camari Katirewa has been awarded scholarship under Research studies to further Radiology studies at Iwate Medical University.
Mr. Rinel Ram has been awarded scholarship under Doctor’s course to further his studies in the field of Information Science and Technology at Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
Ms. Sadhna Gautam has been awarded scholarship under Specialised Training to further her studies in the field of International Business at Osaka YMCA International College.
A FNU Student, Ms. Miriama Drauna, the participant of the “Japan Study Program” came back to Fiji on 20th March. She visited Tokyo and Tohoku region for two weeks and saw the situation of recovery after the Great East Japan Earthquake. It is a good opportunity to share her experience in Japan with four students who will be travelling to Japan in April 2012.
The Government of Japan Scholarship (MEXT) was introduced to Fiji in 1982 to promote human resources development and international exchange. Approximately around 130 students from Fiji have been awarded with the scholarship since its inception.
