JAPANESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP FOR 2012
One Departs to Japan under Scholarship for Teacher Training
The Government of Japan continues to award scholarships annually that benefit Fiji citizens.
One Fiji national has been awarded Japanese Government Scholarship for Teacher Training and will depart to Japan on 26 September 2012.
Mrs. Valevou V. Waqalala Doi, currently a primary school teacher, has been awarded scholarship to further her studies in the field of Educational Psychology at Chiba University. Mrs. Doi will undergo her intensive Japanese language studies for 6 months at the beginning of her 18 months study period.
The Government of Japan Scholarship (MEXT) was introduced to Fiji in 1982 to promote human resources development and international exchange. 128 students from Fiji have been awarded with the scholarships since its inception.
Currently, 4 categories of MEXT Scholarship are offered: Specialised Training College, Undergraduate, Research (post graduate) and Teacher Training.
