:: Press ReleasesSigning of the Agreement on Technical Cooperation between the Government of Japan and the Government of the Republic of Vanuatu On 28th February 2006, the signing of the Agreement on Technical Cooperation between the Government of Japan and the Government of the Republic of Vanuatu was held in Port Vila, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Conference Room at 04.30 p.m. between H.E. Mr. Masashi Namekawa, the Ambassador of Japan and Hon. Mr. Sato Kilman, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation. The Agreement comprehensively establishes measures and other actions to be taken by the Republic of Vanuatu when accepting Japanese technical cooperation such as dispatch of experts, Japanese volunteers, and Japanese missions to the Republic of Vanuatu. The signing of the Agreement sets up privileges, exemptions and facilities for Japanese personnel requested from the Government of Japan by the Government of the Republic of Vanuatu. The conclusion of this Agreement is expected to further contribute to smooth implementation of Japan’s technical cooperation with the Republic of Vanuatu as well as further the economic and social development of the country. It is anticipated that the conclusion of this Agreement with further strengthen the friendly relations the two nations have developed over the years. |
