Grant Contract Signing Ceremony for“The Project for the Provision of School Bus in Funafuti Atoll” and “The Project for the Provision of School Bus in Vaitupu Island” under the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP) programme.

     On 18 February 2025 a Grant Contract Signing Ceremony for the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP) was held, where the grant contracts for The Project for the Provision of School Bus in Funafuti Atoll and The Project for the Provision of School Bus in Vaitupu Island were signed by the Ambassador Michii, and Dr. Maina Talia, Minister of Home Affairs, Climate Change and Environment. One new school bus for each island will be provided to transport primary and highschool students from Funafuti, and preschool and primary students from Vaitupu.

     Ambassador Michii expressed his hope that the project would improve the transportation for the students and strengthen the friendly relations between Tuvalu and Japan.
