Opening Ceremony of the Fiji Practice Parliament for Women, which is a part of “Fiji Parliament Support Project” co-funded by the EU, New Zealand, Australia and Japan in partnership with UNDP

Fiji’s first ever “Practice Parliament for Women” will take place from 16 to 18 August. The programme is part of a joint effort by partners to empower Women and at the same time Encourage Women Candidates into Parliament. The Workshop was co-funded by the EU, New Zealand, Australia and Japan.
The official opening of the “Fiji Practice Parliament for Women” held on 16 was attended by Hon. Dr. Luveni, Speaker of Parliament and other Members of Parliament. As part of the Government of Japan’s opening remarks, Mr. Tsuguyoshi Hada, Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Embassy of Japan stated that the experience of the participants would count as an accomplishment for every woman in the country. He further added that Japan will continue to support Fiji’s democratization and nation building process through the Fiji Parliament Support Project.
